ABOUT LIAM CRAWLEY
Liam has over 20 years’ experience in the hospitality and meat industries, as well as being an accomplished vocalist. Utilising his vast knowledge, Liam has consulted nationwide in food operations, back of house and front of house training, and start-up food and beverage businesses and franchises. Leaving school at 13, Liam developed an ingrained passion for the hospitality industry. He is driven, passionate, creative, unfaltering and loyal with an obsession for attention to detail and structure. For the past 15 years, Liam has had the privilege of running restaurants, consulting for industry leaders, and catering and butchering through his own small businesses. Liam believes his profession is his art, solidifying his dedication and love for an industry that his given him so much opportunity. He has never underestimated the true level of his skills and since beginning his journey in the hospitality industry, the direction of his career has never ventured off course.
In 2020 Liam developed Hospo for Life in an attempt to bring to light the serious mental health issues plaguing the hospitality industry. With the onset of the Covid lockdowns and the severe impact they had on the hospitality sector and it's workers, he created a 22 episode online series, Hospo Happy Hour, which discussed hospitality industry specific mental health issues and coping strategies with accredited psychologists and industry professionals including Mark Jensen, Dominique Rizzo, Lyndey Milan and Sven Almenning. A collaboration with international brand Warner's Gin and Dan Murphy's saw each episode of Hospo Happy Hour sponsored with many hospitality publications and nationwide radio stations subsequently reporting on the effects of the pandemic on the mental health of hospitality workers and how they could access the Hospo for Life platform. Through Hospo for Life, Liam was also able to facilitate hospitality focused mental health workshops with Altius Group. These workshops were for various venues including Dinner by Heston and targeted core leadership groups, kitchen teams and front of house teams. Liam has now combined his passions of food, singing and love of the outdoors to bring you Cook it like Crawley. A collaborative series that showcases the best in Australian food, farmers, fishing and entertainment.
